Starling Marte will begin a rehab assignment on Sunday, starting with High-A Bradenton, the Pirates announced.
Marte, who of course received an 80-game suspension from Major League Baseball for a positive test for a performance-enhancing drug in April, is eligible to return to the majors on July 18.
Marte posted a .241/.288/.370 line with two home runs in 13 games before the suspension.
