Cannonballs coming: Glasnow fans 11 in uneven start

— Tyler Glasnow fanned 11 as Indianapolis (46-35) beat Louisville, 8-2. It wasn’t an entirely encouraging outing, as it took Glasnow 107 pitches to get through five and two-thirds innings. He gave up two runs on four hits and three walks. Eury Perez, who’s been Indy’s hottest hitter lately, went 3-4 with a double and Danny Ortiz hit his fifth HR.

— Altoona (40-38) lost its sixth straight in an 11-3 shelling by Erie. Alex McRae started and gave up six runs on ten hits over five innings. Logan Hill went 1-3 with a walk in his AA debut.

— Gage Hinsz went seven innings as Bradenton (43-33) beat Florida, 5-3. Hinsz gave up three runs, one of them unearned, on nine hits. He walked one, struck out four, and threw 64 of 91 pitches for strikes. Mitchell Tolman went 2-5 with a double and is 10-for-16 in his last four games.

— West Virginia (35-41) pounded Hickory, 11-2. Albert Baur was 2-4 with a walk and his third HR, and Trae Arbet 2-5 with his eighth HR and three RBIs. Oddy Nunez gave up a run over five and two-thirds innings on six hits and three walks. He struck out two. Hunter Owen left the game shortly after getting hit in the shoulder by a pitch. It was the 20th time he’s been plunked.

— Morgantown (7-5) lost to Williamsport, 4-2. Ike Schlabach gave up three runs on four hits and four walks in five innings. He didn’t strike out anybody. Chris Sharpe (14th round) and Dylan Busby (3) made their pro debuts. Sharpe was 1-2 with a walk. Busby was 0-2 with a walk and two strikeouts.

Jared Oliva: 1-4

— Bristol (3-7) dropped a 2-1 game to Bluefield. Hunter Stratton started and went three scoreless innings, allowing just a walk. He fanned five. Mason Ward (34) made his debut, giving up a run in an inning and two-thirds. He gave up two hits and a walk, and struck out two. Henrry Rosario provided the only offense with his third HR.

— The GCL Pirates (2-4) lost to the Tigers West, 7-2. Starter Roger Santana recorded only two outs before being removed, no doubt due to his pitch count. He was charged with four runs, only one of them earned. Yeudy Garcia gave up an unearned run in a two-inning rehab outing. He gave up a hit and two walks, and struck out one. The Pirates had only four hits.

— The DSL Pirates (15-10) pummeled the Astros Orange, 12-3. Francisco Acuna drew four walks and hit his first pro HR. Samuel Inoa went 3-4 with a double. Inoa is now hitting 396/493/623. Ruben Gonzalez was 2-5 with two doubles and four RBIs. Yerry De Los Santos got the win with three scoreless innings in relief.
