-- Indianapolis (57-48) lost the first game of its doubleheader with Pawtucket, 5-0. Drew Hutchison gave up all five runs in the first inning, then hung on for a seven-inning complete game. He allowed eight hits and three walks, and struck out five. Indy managed just five hits, all singles. Elias Diaz went 3-3. Edwin Espinal was 0-3 in his AAA debut.

Indy also dropped the second game, 2-1. Johnny Barbato made his second start since the Pirates acquired him, allowing one run in three and a third innings. He gave up four hits, walked nobody and struck out four. The Indians had seven hits, all of them again singles. This time, Joey Terdoslavich went 3-3. Espinal again went 0-3.

— Bradenton (59-42) blew a four-run lead in the bottom of the ninth and lost to St. Lucie, 6-5. Starter Bret Helton allowed just an unearned run in seven innings. He gave up five hits and two walks, and struck out three. Daniel Zamora started the ninth inning with an ERA of 0.63, but he failed to retire any of the five batters he faced. Seth McGarry had a chance to pitch out of it, but committed a costly error and then hit a batter to force in the winning run with two out. Ke’Bryan Hayes was 2-5. Stephen Alemais returned to the lineup and went 0-3 with a walk.

— Morgantown (23-13) lost to Auburn in 13 innings, 3-2. Stephan Meyer started and gave up two runs on four hits and no walks in six innings. He fanned six. The hitters went 1-for-17 with runners in scoring position.

— Austin Meadows finally resurfaced as the GCL Pirates (11-17) beat the Tigers East, 7-3. Meadows played right field (hmmm) for three innings and doubled in two at-bats. His replacement, Jeremias Portorreal, went 3-3 with his fourth HR. Mason Martin went 3-4 with a walk, two doubles and three runs. Brian Sousa pitched four scoreless innings in relief, giving up five hits and a walk, with no strikeouts.

— The DSL Pirates (25-22) beat the Indians, 8-3. Starter Osvaldo Bido allowed just one run despite giving up three hits and six walks in three innings. He struck out three. Francisco Acuna went 3-5 with three RBIs.
