The Dominican Winter League team Aguilas Cibaenas announced via Twitter that it has signed Pirates infielder Jung-Ho Kang.

Pirates general manager Neal Huntington had previously said the team was trying to get Kang, having missed all of the 2017 Major League Baseball season due to visa issues stemming from an offseason DUI arrest in South Korea, into the Dominican league.
What remains unclear is ... pretty much everything else, including whether Kang has acquired the proper documentation to work in the Dominican Republic. It would stand to reason the Pirates are at least somewhat optimistic Kang may eventually be allowed to work in the United States again, given they are pursuing this track, but there remains nothing concrete at least publicly, in that regard.
Kang remains on the Pirates’ restricted list.
