The DSL Pirates were off.
— Indianapolis (63-52) beat Buffalo, 5-3. Clay Holmes went five innings, giving up two runs on six hits. He walked one and struck out three. Jordan Luplow (pictured) went 2-3 with his sixth HR in AAA, 22nd on the season, and drove in three. Max Moroff returned to Indy and went 0-1 with three walks.

— Altoona (58-55) lost to Reading, 5-4, in ten innings. Casey Sadler started and gave up a three-run HR in the first, but nothing else in the following five innings. He allowed five hits and a walk overall, and struck out seven. Pablo Reyes and Jin-De Jhang each had two hits.

— Bradenton (61-50) blew a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the ninth and lost to Lakeland, 5-4. James Marvel made his first start for the Marauders, going six innings. The only damage against him came in the third when he gave up three runs, all of them unearned due to a third-strike passed ball that extended the inning. In fact, Marvel struck out four in the inning. For the game he gave up four hits and two walks, and struck out six. The Marauders had only three hits.

— West Virginia (54-57) edged Lakewood, 2-1. Stephan Meyer gave up a run in six innings on five hits and two walks. He struck out two. The Power had just six hits. Clark Eagan drove in both runs with a groundout and a single.

— Morgantown (29-19) beat Brooklyn, 7-3. Sergio Cubilete started and went five and two-thirds, allowing three runs on five hits. He walked three and struck out three. Lucas Tancas went 2-4 with his second HR, a three-run shot.

— Bristol (10-36) got no-hit in the first game of its doubleheader with Danville, with a final score of 5-0. (A seven-inning game, of course.) The only baserunner came on a walk to Ryan Peurifoy. Jacob Taylor gave up four runs, two of them unearned, on eight hits in five and two-thirds innings. He walked one and struck out one.
The Pirates won the second game, 4-1, breaking their latest losing streak, which was eight games. Evan Piechota made a spot start, throwing four shutout innings, allowing two hits and no walks, and fanning seven. Bristol had only four hits.

— The GCL Pirates (14-24) lost to the Phillies, 8-2. Cody Bolton threw three innings, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk. He didn’t strike out anybody. The Pirates had only six hits, all singles.
