Major League Baseball unveiled its 2018 schedule on Tuesday. The Pirates will open the season at Detroit on Thursday, March 29, with their home opener coming Monday, April 2 against the Twins, starting the season with consecutive interleague series.

The full schedule is available here.

As you may have deduced, the Pirates will play the American League Central in interleague play, with the Tigers, White Sox and Royals, in addition to the Twins, visiting Pittsburgh.

The Pirates will play a three-game series at Cleveland from Monday, June 23 through Wednesday, June 25. That’s always a fun trip, so it’s disappointing to see it (edit:) not fall on a weekend.

The Pirates have two home holiday games, hosting the Cubs on Memorial Day and the Reds on Labor Day. They’ll be at the Dodgers on Independence Day.

Also, the Society for American Baseball Research announced SABR 48, its convention next summer, will be held in Pittsburgh at the Wyndham Grand downtown from June 20 through 24. That coincided with one Pirates home game with the Brewers, then a four-game weekend home series with the Diamondbacks.
