Cannonballs coming: Taylor Hearn, Kevin Kramer begin rehab

— Indianapolis (78-62) lost to Toledo, 4-3. Tyler Eppler gave up four runs on nine hits in six and two-thirds innings. He walked one and struck out three. Danny Ortiz had two doubles, and Jacob Stallings and Gift Ngoepe each had two hits. The Indians got the tying run to third with one out in the ninth, but Kevin Newman was called out on strikes and Erich Weiss grounded out. Newman went 1-5 with a double. He’s 3-for-20 in his last six games.

— Altoona’s (72-65) game with Harrisburg was suspended after five innings with the score tied, 1-1. Alex McRae had allowed a run on six hits, with no walks and four strikeouts. Wyatt Mathisen had a double and Cole Tucker was 1-2 with a walk.

— Bradenton (69-62) won the completion of their suspended game with Charlotte, 5-0. The game was stopped with no score after six innings. James Marvel threw six shutout innings before the rain came, while giving up just two hits, walking nobody and striking out one. Jess Amedee and Geoff Hartlieb finished the shutout. Ke’Bryan Hayes went 3-5 with a double and Will Craig 2-4 with a walk. Casey Hughston hit his eighth HR to break the tie in the seventh.

The Marauders won the regularly scheduled game, 1-0, in ten innings on a walkoff sacrifice fly by Hayes. Bret Helton threw eight shutout innings, giving up just two hits and a walk while fanning seven. Yunior Montero struck out three over the last two innings. Mitchell Tolman and Alfredo Reyes each had a single and a double. In fact, those were the only hits for Bradenton.

— Luis Escobar (pictured) threw a complete game, five-inning shutout when the weather cut short West Virginia’s (68-66) game with Delmarva. That left the Power with a 6-0 win. Escobar allowed just one hit and walked two while fanning eight. He needed only 63 pitches. Adrian Valerio went 1-3 with his 11th HR, a three-run shot. Hunter Owen returned from his rehab and went 1-2.

— Adam Oller fanned 11 over five and two-thirds innings as Morgantown (38-33) beat Auburn, 5-1. Oller gave up just two hits and a walk. Jared Oliva and Sandy Santos each went 2-5 with a double. Michael De La Cruz returned from the disabled list to go 2-4 with a double and Lucas Tancas was 2-4 with a walk.

— The GCL Pirates closed their season with a 26-34 record by beating the Yankees East, 5-2. Taylor Hearn and Kevin Kramer both started rehabs. Hearn threw two perfect innings, fanning three. Kramer played second for five innings and went 0-2. Jason Stoffel also continued his rehab, allowing a run in two-thirds of an inning. Jesse Medrano was 4-4 with a pair of triples.
