Indianapolis and Altoona have their playoff openers on Wednesday.
Morgantown (40-34) got a walkoff sacrifice fly from Brett Pope in the 14th inning as they beat Williamsport, 8-7. Earlier, Dylan Busby (pictured) picked a good time for his first career HR, leading off the ninth with it to tie the game, 7-7. The Black Bears had all sorts of chances to win it, putting a runner on second with no or one out in every extra inning. They finished 4-for-25 with runners in scoring position. Starter Scooter Hightower was hurt by a two-out error in the fourth inning that opened the floodgates for four unearned runs. He gave up five runs in all, in five innings. He allowed seven hits and two walks, and fanned five. Matt Seelinger threw four shutout innings in relief. Busby finished 2-5. Tristan Gray was 2-7 with his seventh HR. Kevin Kramer continued his rehab, going 1-5.
Deon Stafford: 1-6, BB
Bligh Madris: 2-7, 2 2B
