Last year, the Tampa Bay Rays had so little regard for Corey Dickerson’s outfield skills that he spent over a third of his time as a DH. This year, he’s a Gold Glove winner, recipient of the National League award for left fielders. He finished with 16 runs saved, per DRS, and 10 outs above average, per Statcast. Dickerson beat out Adam Duvall, who had equally impressive defensive metrics, and Christian Yelich, who hit dingerz.
