Blue Jays sign Jaime Garcia; Red Sox have deal in place with Eduardo Nunez

Just to close a loop, Toronto has signed lefty Jaime Garcia to a one-year deal for $10M. Way, way back in the off-season, the Pirates were rumored to be the most likely destination for Garcia. That never really made a great deal of sense and it’d make even less now, with the Pirates’ rotation now set. Clint Hurdle made that official today by announcing (sub. req’d) that Joe Musgrove would join holdovers Jameson Taillon, Ivan Nova, Chad Kuhl and Trevor Williams.

UPDATE: The Red Sox reportedly have a deal in place with Eduardo Nunez. With a handful of teams looking for an infielder, Nunez was probably at the top of the market. Conceivably, Nunez going off the market could increase the chances of the Pirates trading Josh Harrison.
