Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Mets have reached a deal with Todd Frazier.
#Mets in agreement with free-agent 3B Todd Frazier on two-year, $17M contract, sources tell The Athletic. Pending a physical.— Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) February 6, 2018
The significance for the Pirates, of course, is that the Mets have been linked for most of the off-season to Josh Harrison.
Latest on #Mets, per sources: Nunez, Frazier currently leading infield choices. Team leery of getting used by Frazier if he prefers #Yankees,— Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) February 3, 2018
reluctant to bring back Walker, getting no traction on #Pirates’ Harrison. Also interested in adding SP - Cobb or Lynn - if prices fall.
The Pirates reportedly have been insisting on Brandon Nimmo as a return, with the Mets unwilling to part with the outfielder. So this probably eliminates the Mets as a potential trade partner.
