The Pirates have reassigned four more players, two infielders and two right-handers, to minor league camp:
Third round of Pirates cuts: Kevin Kramer, Kevin Newman, Alex McRae and Yeudy Garcia.

None of the four had any realistic chance of making the team out of spring training. Newman will probably be the primary shortstop at Indianapolis to start the season. The other three could all move up to Indianapolis from Altoona, but they’ll be facing a lot of job competition. Kramer had an impressive spring, showing the kind of power he showed before breaking his hand last year. He batted 313/500/875, with only four of his 16 at-bats ending in anything other than an extra-base hit or a strikeout. (He also walked five times.)
The spring roster now stands at 49.
