Bryan Reynolds out with broken hamate

Outfielder Bryan Reynolds, whom the Pirates acquired from San Francisco in the Andrew McCutchen trade, will miss 4-6 weeks with a broken hamate bone in his left wrist (h/t piratesprospects.com).

Reynolds left the Altoona game last Sunday after striking out. He’d started the season 3-for-13 with two doubles and a triple.

Recovery from hand and wrist injuries can take time for hitters, so it’s conceivable that we won’t see Reynolds at full strength until late this season or even the start of next season.
