The Pirates have placed Joe Musgrove on the 10-day disabled list due to a sore shoulder. To replace him, they’ve recalled Clay Holmes, who was with them just yesterday for the doubleheader.
ROSTER MOVE:
— Pirates (@Pirates) April 2, 2018
RHP Joe Musgrove has been placed on the 10 day DL (retro to March 30) with a muscle strain in his right shoulder.
RHP Clay Holmes has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis
This obviously isn’t a good sign, as it seems to be a recurring problem for Musgrove.
Musgrove was slated to start on Thursday, but that won’t happen now. The team hasn’t announced who’ll take his place.
Pirates have not announced Thursday starter. Steven Brault pitched three innings Friday and could get the ball on an extra day's rest. Holmes could fill Brault's long-relief role in interim.

Brault would seem like the logical choice, but Tyler Glasnow would have three days off after throwing two innings yesterday, so he should be able to go as well.
