I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as I will be relieving Eli of his site management duties.
Bucs Dugout has been my primary source of Pirates news for much of the last decade. I am a huge fan of the content put out and am thrilled at the opportunity to join the team. My plan is to help support the staff from an organizational perspective and contribute content where I can add value.
Pirates baseball has always been a huge passion of mine. While I have never lived in Pittsburgh, my father grew up in the city during the glory years. That’s when he developed a love for the team, which was passed down to me through methods most accurately described as brainwashing. Point being, I learned to love the ‘black and gold’ very early on. I even first experienced heartbreak on October 14th, 1992 following an NLCS game 7 loss to the Atlanta Braves. I was 6 months old.
Now I am 26 years old and live in Miami, FL. I still experience that same heartbreak, but now it comes after botched trades, missed opportunities in the draft, and Wild Card game losses to Jake Arrieta. I’ve learned that disappointment comes with the territory while supporting the Pirates but I keep coming back for more.
But with unwavering optimism, I’m excited to see how the season will unfold and I look forward to experiencing it your company!
Go Bucs!
