The Pirates have announced that they’ll recall outfield prospect Austin Meadows tomorrow.

Although there’s no official word as such, this almost certainly means Starling Marte’s oblique issue will put him on the disabled list. Meadows, once he gets into a game, will be making his major league debut.
Meadows is considered in most places to be the Pirates’ top prospect after Mitch Keller. He went into today with a 281/326/380 batting line at Indianapolis. Presumably, he’ll play center field, at least against right-handed pitchers, although assuming that Clint Hurdle will take Sean Rodriguez out of the lineup probably isn’t a safe exercise.
