--Indianapolis(33-29, 2nd place in West Division) defeated Toledo 5-2. J.T. Brubaker turned in a solid start, lasting 5.1 innings and allowing 2 runs to go along with 6 hits and 5 Ks. While his peripherals are not impressive at the Triple A level, Brubaker has managed a 3.13 ERA over 37 innings. Indy scored all five of their runs in the third inning. Adam Frazier got things started with a line drive double just inside the first base line which scored Kevin Newman. Jose Osuna followed with a RBI double to score Frazier. Jordan Luplow, Kevin Kramer, and Christopher Bostick all added RBIs before the inning was over. Jung Ho Kang was 0-4 and started at 3b again. Kang did have at least one solidly struck ball which forced the right fielder to make a leaping catch. He also seemed to do a better job laying off breaking pitches.
Kevin Newman: 0-3, walk
Jose Osuna: 2-3, double, walk
Kevin Kramer: 2-3, 2 doubles
Josh Smoker: 1 IP, .69 WHIP and 12 Ks over last 11.1 innings
-- Altoona(30-28, 3rd place in Western Division) destroyed Binghamton 12-3. The Curve pounded out 13 hits as Eduardo Vera earned his first Double A victory. Vera went seven innings allowing three runs while striking out five. But the story tonight was the Altoona offense. After falling behind 2-0, the Curve exploded for five runs in the the fourth inning and were just getting started. They added another three runs in both the fifth and sixth. Ke’Bryan Hayes was 3-3 with a triple and a walk. While Hayes doesn’t seem to possess the defensive traits the Pirates crave in their corner infielders, he raised his OPS to .785 on the season and 1.083 over last 10 games. Will Craig went 3-5 and hit a three run homer(7). Jason Martin was 2-5 and hit his ninth home run. Logan Ratledge hit a three run homer, his first of the season.

-- Bradenton(32-28, 3rd place in South Division) split a doubleheader against Florida. The Marauders lost the first game 6-0 as Enny Romero pitched the first inning. It was not a good outing for Romero. He allowed a home run to Christian Pache who was leading off. He then allowed another two hits and Adam Oller had to come in to get the final out of the inning. Oller went 4.1 innings and surrendered four earned runs while allowing 7 hits. Bradenton was unable to do much offensively and only collected five singles.
Enny Romero: .2 IP, home run, 3 hits, 1 K
Jared Oliva: 2-2
Mitchell Tolman: 2-3
The Marauders prevailed in the second game 3-2. James Marvel was excellent pitching a 7 inning complete game while only allowing 2 hits to go along with seven strike outs. Christian Pache’s two run single gave Florida a 2-1 lead in the third. Arden Pabst tied things up in the sixth on a RBI double to left field which brought Hunter Owen home. Alfredo Reyes singled in the seventh inning to drive home Albert Baur and give Bradenton their third and game deciding run.
Jared Oliva: 1-4
Adrian Valerio: 1-3, double, walk
Hunter Owen: 2-4
--West Virginia(33-28, 3rd place in Northern Division) scored seven runs in the first two innings and defeated Augusta 7-5. Deon Stafford started things off with a two run single scoring Oneil Cruz and Rodolfo Castro. Ben Bengston drove home Mitchell and Brett Pope brought Stafford home. The Power would add three more in the second inning to increase their lead to 7-1. Gavin Wallace pitched six innings allowing four runs and West Virgina would hold on for a 7-5 victory.
Oneil Cruz: 1-5, 1 K
Cal Mitchell: 0-3, 2 Ks
