The Pirates head into the All-Star break as winners of seven of their last eight games, including their last five in a row, four over the previously division leading Milwaukee Brewers. The Pirates end Joe Musgrove (3-4, 3.77) to the hill against the Brewers’ starter Jhoulys Chacin (8-3, 3.78)
Chacin has faced the Pirates twice this year, each time allowing only one run in six innings, even if the Brewers only won one of the two games.
After two bad starts against the Reds and Diamondbacks, Musgrove has only allowed two runs in his has two starts, covering twelve innings, and struck out nine in five innings in his last start against the Nationals.
