Game Thread: Seeing Red(s)

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Now that the All-Star break is in the rear view mirror, the Pirates will put their six-game winning streak on the line against Cincinnati's finest in the first game of a three-game series. Sportingly, the Pirates have decided to give the last-place Reds a handicap by activating Sean Rodriguez from the disabled list and adding him to the active roster in place of Tanner Anderson, who was optioned to AAA Indianapolis. Rodriguez steps right back into the starting lineup, which you can see below:

  1. Corey Dickerson, LF
  2. Starling Marte, CF
  3. Gregory Polanco, RF
  4. Elias Diaz, C
  5. Colin Moran, 3B
  6. Josh Bell, 1B
  7. Sean Rodriguez, 2B
  8. Jordy Mercer, SS
  9. Jameson Taillon, P

The Reds' lineup, which interestingly does not include Joey Votto, consists of the following:

  1. Jose Peraza, SS
  2. Tucker Barnhart, C
  3. Scooter Gennett, 2B
  4. Eugenio Suarez, 3B
  5. Jesse Winker, LF
  6. Adam Duvall, 1B
  7. Philip Ervin, RF
  8. Tyler Mahle, P
  9. Billy Hamilton, CF

Also, the Reds have announced that the game's start will be delayed by inclement weather, with an update "at approximately 7:30 PM". The weather report doesn't look promising, so cross your fingers. In the meantime, here's some rainy day music while you wait:
