— Indianapolis (51-46) lost to Charlotte, 5-4. The Indians had the tying run on second in the ninth, but Kevin Newman and Adam Frazier both fanned. Tyler Eppler got hit around, giving up five runs on eight hits in five innings. He walked three and struck out two. Chris Bostick (pictured) returned from his rehab and went 3-4 with two doubles. #FreePabloReyes also went 3-4 and Kevin Kramer was 2-3 with a double and a walk.

— Bradenton (46-49) got clobbered by Daytona, 9-1. Oddy Nunez has mostly struggled since his no-hitter and he did again in this game, giving up six runs, five earned, over five innings. The Marauders had only four hits. Jared Oliva was 1-3 with a walk.
— West Virginia (50-44) lost the first game of its doubleheader to Lexington, 6-4. Travis MacGregor had an uneven outing. He fanned eight and allowed just four hits and two walks over five innings. What he gave up was mostly bunched together, though, and he gave up four runs. Ben Bengtson went 2-3 with his fourth home run. Lolo Sanchez was 1-3 with a walk and Cal Mitchell walked once and struck out twice. Deon Stafford had a triple in two at-bats.
The Power also dropped the second game, 4-2. Oneil Cruz played for the first time in five days and went 1-3 with a double. Cal Mitchell was 1-2 with a double and a walk, and Lolo Sanchez 0-3. Ike Schlabach gave up four runs, two earned, over three and two-thirds innings.
— Bristol (13-16) blew a one-run lead in the top of the ninth, then failed to score after loading the bases with nobody out in the bottom of the tenth and eleventh. The Pirates finally beat Kingsport, though, 6-5 on a walkoff single by Brendt Citta in the twelfth. Mason Martin went 4-5 with a double and a walk, raising his average to .350. He did, however, strike out to leave the bases loaded in the eleventh. Chase Lambert went 2-5 with his second home run. Starter Colin Selby gave up two unearned runs over five innings.

— The DSL Pirates1 (20-22) lost to the Dodgers Guerrero, 8-6. Randy Romero (18) went 3-4 with three RBIs and Yoyner Fajardo (19) was 2-4 with a triple. Norkis Marcos (17), Daniel Rivero (17) and Juan Pie (17) were all 1-5.
— The DSL Pirates2 (15-25) held Colorado to two hits, but still lost, 4-0. Eight walks, seven steals and two hit batsmen caused most of the damage. Estalin Ortiz (19) allowed a run on one hit and three walks over four innings, striking out three. Yeison Santos (17) threw two and two-thirds scoreless innings, allowing a hit and a walk, and striking out three. The Pirates had only three hits themselves, two of them by third baseman Eduar Ramirez (17). He’s batting 333/414/451.
