--Indianapolis(47-39) defeated Columbus 7-0. Casey Sadler pitched six scoreless innings while recording five strikeouts. Sadler lowered his ERA to 3.47 on the year. Sadler has pitched well recently in spot starts and out out of the bullpen. Indy jumped out to a 2-0 lead when the Clipper’s Mitch Talbot could not cleanly field a Jason Martin comebacker to the mound with the bases loaded allowing two runs to score. The future, Sean Rodriguez homered in the fifth to increase Indy’s lead to 3-0. Indy would eventually stretch its lead to 7-0 on a Eric Wood two run double. Jesus Liranzo pitched three scoreless innings in relief to earn his second save.

--Altoona(44-39) beat Trenton 6-4. Cam Vieaux went seven innings allowing four runs and seven hits. Cole Tucker was 2-4 with a double and a triple. Ke’Bryan Hayes was 1-2 with three walks. Hayes raised his OPS to .816 on the season. Yeudy Garcia pitched two scoreless innings in relief with 4 Ks.

--Bradenton(41-40) defeated Fort Myers 4-1 behind an excellent start from James Marvel. Marvel allowed only one hit over seven while striking out nine. Albert Baur hit his ninth home run of the year. Arden Pabst was 2-4 and raised his OPS to .831 on the year. Pabst came into the season with a reputation as a strong defensive catcher and is someone to watch going forward.

--West Virginia Power(46-36) lost to Hagerstown 4-2. Cody Bolton had a respectable start going six innings and allowing three runs to go along with 4 Ks. Bolton has thrown 34 innings with the Power and has a WHIP of 1.08. The West Virginia bats were largely silent this evening as they only recorded two hits. Oneil Cruz hit his 11th homer of the season.

--Morgantown(10-12) beat Auburn 7-6. It was a big night for Travis Swaggerty who hit his first home run of the year and also had a triple. Osvaldo Bido turned in an excellent start, going five scoreless innings with 8 Ks. Grant Koch, the Pirates 5th round pick in the 2018 draft made his debut and went 0-2 with three walks. The Black Bears broadcast team credited him with a strong performance behind the plate.

--Bristol(9-8) defeated Princeton 15-9. Shane Baz was on the mound for Bristol and had a strong start before running into some trouble in the sixth inning. Baz’s final line will show him allowing four runs over five innings but two of those runs came in the sixth inning when he seemed to run out of gas and had a hard time locating the plate. Baz sounded dominant for much of the game and had recorded nine Ks through five innings while throwing over 70% strikes. Bristol had 18 hits and perhaps the biggest surprise was none of them came from Jonah Davis.
