Pittsburgh’s Chris Archer is set to face off against Milwaukee’s Chase Anderson in today’s rubber game of the series.
Despite being knocked around a bit in his recent starts (1-0, 5.23 ERA in August), Chase Anderson has not earned a loss in a contest since July 14th when he tossed 5.1 innings and gave up two solo home runs against the Pirates. Anderson isn’t a stranger to giving up home runs - he’s allowed 26 of them over 25 starts in 2018. Even while allowing all of those round trips, he is still managing an ERA of 3.92 on the year.
Chris Archer earned the tough luck loss in his last outing when he allowed one run over 4 innings pitched before leaving the game after taking an aggressive swing at the plate. Archer has experienced some struggles since coming over to Pittsburgh at the trade deadline, so much so that he has yet to record an out in the 6th inning during any of his starts since joining the team.
Lineups to be posted.
