Game Thread: Musgrove Goes For Series Win

Joe Musgrove (5-7, 3.56) and the Pirates will go for the series win in St. Louis Thursday at 7:15 p.m., facing the Cardinals’ John Gant (5-5, 3.56).

It’s been an interesting year for Gant, bouncing in and out of the rotation most of the year. He is on a hot streak, though, allowing two or fewer runs in his last four starts. The trade off is he has not gone deep into many games (22.2 IP, 5 ER).

Corey Dickerson is sitting this game out, with Adam Frazier starting in left. (Clint Hurdle must have read Jason Rollison’s piece from earlier today.)

Musgrove is looking to get back on track after allowing four runs in four innings in his last start Aug. 24.
