Game Thread: Pirates Go For Sweep Of Royals

MLB: Kansas City Royals at Pittsburgh Pirates Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Pirates and their AAA catchers will go for a sweep of the Kansas City Royals Wednesday when Chris Archer (4-8, 4.66) faces Heath Fillmyer (3-1, 4.76). First pitch is at 7:05 p.m..

Fillmyer has been a feast or famine pitcher as of late. Three of his last seven appearances have been quality starts, allowing three runs in 20 IP. In the other four starts in that stretch, he has allowed 20 runs in 17.2 IP. His changeup has been a weapon against lefties, holding them to a .150 batting average on 40 batted balls in play.

We all know how Archer has done as a Pirate so far, so in lieu of stats, enjoy this video of a toddler playing with some puppies.

Pablo Reyes- he of the .435/.500/.609 slash line- will make his second consecutive start in right field.
