Strangely enough, it’s the Pirates who have been a thorn in the Brewers’ side in 2018, PNC Park serving as Milwaukee’s House of Horrors.

Things are getting a little tense in Milwaukee down the stretch. The offense is falling off, the bullpen carrying a heavy load in the second half.

But the Brewers (87-66) are going to hold on. Fangraphs has them at 99.2 percent odds to make the playoffs. They’re holding onto a three-game lead over the Cardinals for the National League’s first wild-card spot, 4 1/2 ahead of the Rockies for either wild card. Milwaukee sits 2 1/2 games behind the Cubs for the NL Central Lead.

Christian Yelich (.319/.385/.569, 31 HR, 6.1 fWAR), he of two cycles in a month’s span, is a leader in the wide-open National League MVP race.

The Pirates (77-74) are riding a five-game winning streak, including victories in the final two of last weekend’s three games at Miller Park. The Brewers took two of three from the Reds at home this week.
