The Pirates have optioned two pitchers to AAA.
The Pirates have optioned Michael Feliz and Clay Holmes to Class AAA Indianapolis. Feliz allowed a run in five consecutive appearances.

Feliz has had a bad spring, allowing five HRs in a dozen innings, which continues a career-long problem for him. Holmes has been better, giving up six hits and six walks, with nine Ks, in ten innings.
Brink is also saying that the Pirates’ deadline for Francisco Liriano is Saturday, which contradicts the reporting at the time he signed.
Francisco Liriano will start tomorrow's game. If he's not promised a roster spot or released by noon Saturday, he's owed a $100,000 retention bonus. That applies to Melky Cabrera too.
