The Pirates have traded right-hander Aaron Slegers to the Rays for the ubiquitous Sid Cash. They had designated Slegers for assignment to clear roster space on opening day. Acquired from Minnesota on a waiver claim, Slegers lasted only halfway through spring training before being optioned to Indianapolis. He didn’t figure to provide more than depth this year.
Another right-hander, Jake Barrett, remains in DFA limbo.
