The Pirates (1-3) face the Reds (1-4) for the second time already early in 2019.
Since the truncated series in Cincinnati, the Reds were swept at home in three games by the Brewers, losing a pair of 4-3 contests, then 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
Luis Castillo was excellent in the series finale, allowing one hit over seven innings, with nine strikeouts and four walks. The Pirates will be fortunate to avoid Castillo and his changeup this time around.
Jose Iglesias is 3-for-10 with two doubles on the season. This bearing mention here is telling of how the rest of the Reds offense is going.
The biggest piece of Reds news came out Monday, when it was announced Hunter Greene, the second overall pick in the 2017 draft, will have Tommy John surgery.
