Josh Bell Named NL Player Of The Week

MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates at San Diego Padres Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Josh Bell has been on a tear, and on Monday, the rest of the league took notice, naming him the NL player of the week.

Bell slashed .407/.484/.889 in 31 plate appearances with four home runs, 10 RBI and six runs scored.

According to FanGraphs, Bell was worth 0.6 fWAR this past week, tied with Anthony Rendon for the best in the NL. FanGraphs valued Bell at 0.6 WAR in his entire rookie season.

It’s the first career Player of the Week Award for Bell and the first for a Pirates position player since Andrew McCutchen in the last week of September in 2017.
