The Pirates have purchased the contract the contract of right-handed starting pitcher Rookie Davis from Triple-A Indianapolis. He had a 5.35 ERA in seven starts there.
To make room on the 40 man roster, Lonnie Chisenhall has been transferred to the 60-day DL.
Davis was originally drafted out of high school and signed by the New York Yankees, where he played for their minor league affiliates for four year before being traded to the Cincinnati Reds in the Aroldis Chapman deal.
Davis’ only major league experience was in 2017 for the Reds, when he had a 8.63 ERA in six starts and one relief appearance, walking 14 and striking out 20 in 24 innings, along with surrendering 7 home runs, while he displayed a fastball that averaged 92.5 mph.
He missed most if 2018 with a right hip injury and became a free agent after the season.
Chris Stratton becomes the latest Pirate to land on the Injured List, with discomfort of the right side.
Michael Feliz (8.25 ERA in 12 IP) has been optioned to Triple-A, replaced by Dovydas Neverauskas (37.80 ERA in 12 IP for Pittsburgh, 1.72 in 15 2⁄3 in minors)

We have selected the contract of RHP Rookie Davis from AAA Indy and recalled RHP Dovydas Neverauskas.
RHP Michael Feliz has been optioned to AAA and RHP Chris Stratton has been placed on the 10-day IL with right side discomfort.
Davis will wear No. 62.
