Game Thread: Pirates Go For Split

MLB: Game Two-Pittsburgh Pirates at Cincinnati Reds Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

The Pirates will try to salvage a split in Cincinnati Thursday.

Steven Brault (1-1, 7.11 ERA) will try to build on his best outing of 2019, where allowed just two runs in 5.2 IP. He will not get an opener before this appearance, however.

The Reds will counter with Anthony DeSclafani (2-2, 4.99), who has been in a rut as of late. In his last three outings, he’s failed to go more than 4 IP and has allowed four runs each time.

First pitch was scheduled for 12:35 p.m., but it will open in a delay.
