The Pirates are going back to the Chris Archer, Jacob Stallings battery that has worked recently Tuesday night in Atlanta.
Archer (3-5) has won back-to-back starts for just the second time in his Pirates tenure this month, both times throwing to Stallings. He’s earned those wins, too, going 13 innings, allowing five runs and striking out a baker’s dozen (3.46 ERA). That includes his last outing on June 6 against these very Braves where he went 6+ with just one run on his ledger.
Braves’ starter Mike Foltynewicz (1-5, 5.89) allowed two home runs in a losing effort against the Bucs on June 6. Since being activated off the IL on Apr. 27, only one pitcher has allowed more homers than him.
Corey Dickerson gets the start in left amid rumors that the Pirates are looking to trade him.
First pitch is at 7:20 p.m..
