Game Thread: Williams Returns

Trevor Williams came off the IL Wednesday and will start for the Pirates tonight against the Detroit Tigers.

Williams (2-1, 3.33) has been sidelined for a little over a month with a side strain. Getting their starter ERA leader back will be a boost for a Pirate rotation which had been scraping for innings since early May.

To make room on the 25 man roster, Mitch Keller was optioned to AAA Indianapolis.

Jordan Zimmerman (0-4, 5.93) will go on the bump for the Tigers. He is also making his return off the injured list after being sidelined with a UCL strain since Apr. 25. Before going on the IL, he had allowed five runs in each of his final four starts.

First pitch is at 7:05 p.m..
