Triple-A

Indianapolis loses (34-25) game one in an eight inning walk off, falling 3-2 at Toledo (25-34)

The only batter reliever Sean Keselica (3.00 ERA in 27 IP) faced grounded a single to left to drive in the fake runner from second, winning the game for Toledo.

Starter Eduardo Vera (3-4, 6.14) threw one of his better games of the year, allowing two runs over the first seven innings on eight hits and two walks while fanning five.

The Indians managed only five hits and went down on strikes eleven times. They scored both runs in the fourth, when Ke’Bryan Hayes (242/337/381) singled, went to second on a wild pitch, scored on Will Craig’s (281/358/535) single, and then Craig scored on SS Pablo Reyes (255/290/480) double.

Indianapolis then gets blasted 8-2 in game two at Toledo (26-34)

Both starter Yefry Ramirez (2.22 ERA in 24 13 IP) and reliever Brandon Waddell (7.71 ERA in 28 IP) got shelled, both surrendering four runs. Ramirez allowed a pair of homer and Waddell one.

LF Pablo Reyes stayed hot with a pair of hits. LF Kevin Kramer (268/351/452), who played outfield in both games, was 2-for-3.

Double-A

Altoona (28-30) victorious in 6-0 shutout in game one win over visiting Akron (31-29)

21 year old lefty Domingo Robles (6-6, 2.59), in his third start since being promoted from Bradenton, threw a seven inning complete game shutout, allowing four hits and no walks while K’ing three.

The Curve scored three in the third on DH Logan Hill’s (275/353/431) bases loaded triple, and another three in the fourth, including a bases loaded walk to Hill, as they collecting six hits and seven walks in the game.

CF Jared Oliva (200/299/331) reached the Mendoza Line with a pair of hits.

Altoona (29-30) scores late to take game two by 2-1 score over visiting Akton (31-30)

The Curve collected all three of their hits in the game in the bottom of the six, scoring a pair of runs to overcome a 2-1 deficit.

26 year old David Speer (2.11 ERA in 38 13 IP) opened for Akron, not allowing a hit or run over four innings, but Brailin Jackson lined a single to right to open the sixth against reliever Jared Robinson (3.00 ERA in 30 IP)

Jackson was bunted to second and scored the tying run on Jared Oliva’s ground ball up the middle that he stretched into a double. Oliva then scored the deciding run when Mitchell Tolman immediately followed with a lone single to right.

Starter James Marvel (5-5, 3.68) got the win, falling one out short of a seven inning complete game as he allowed just one run in six and two thirds innings, despite allowing nine hits and four walks. He threw 104 pitches, 62 for strikes.

Blake Weiman (1.96 ERA in 18 13 IP) nailed down the save, entering to strike out Akron’s cleanup hitter Wilson Garcia with the bases loaded and two out.

High-A

Bradenton (34-27) falls 6-4 to visiting Dunedin (38-23)

The Marauders exploded for four runs in the first on six hits, led off with a single by CF Travis Swaggerty (231/321/346) and a double by RF Cal Mitchell (281/321/433), both on ground balls to right, but that would the total of their scoring in the game.

Meanwhile, Dunedin tagged starter Hunter Stratton (5-0, 2.65) with four of their own in the third, then tacked on single runs against relievers Samuel Reyes (0.79 ERA in 34 IP) and Allen Montgomery.

LF Chris Sharpe (296/373/447) and 1B Lucas Tancas (286/333/424) each finished with two hits.

Low-A

Greensboro (40-22) scored a 4-0 whitewash at Lakewood (23-39)

Switch-hitting 2B Rodolfo Castro (250/307/547) went deep for the 14th time, a three-run shot in the fourth, following a single by LF Fabricio Macias (267/329/440) and walk to 1B Mason Martin (259/356/575)

20 year old Luis Nova (4.91 ERA in 11 IP) , in his first appearance since being demoted from Bradenton, threw six shutout innings on four hits and no walks while fanning six. Reliever Christofer Melendez (5.54 ERA in 13 IP) then followed with five whiffs in his three innings without a run.

Macias and Martin each had two hits.

Dominican Rookie

Pirates-1 (4-3) were victimized by big innings in 13-5 route at Rangers-1 (7-0)

Starter Luis Peralta tossed three shutout innings, but the relievers weren’t so fortunate.

2B Juan Yerez (370/414/778) had two more hits while 3B Orlando Chivilli and CF Fleury Nova also had two hits each.

Pirates-2 (6-1) won 7-2 over visiting Rockies (1-6)

Starter Felipe Mezquita allowed only one hit in three innings but walked six. Reliever Jose Amaya fared much better as he got the win with just one hit and one walk in four shutout innings.

DH Rodolfo Nolasco collected three hits.
