Triple-A

Indianapolis was off the their All-Star break, and none of their players saw action in the game, played at El Paso.

Double-A

Altoona was off the their All-Star break. Pedro Vasquez pitched one scoreless inning and Beau Sulser retired the two batters ha faced in the game their West squad won at Richmond.

High-A

Bradenton (47-41) fell 2-1 at Lakeland (39-48)

Aaron Shortridge returned from the DL, taking the loss, allowing two runs in four innings.

Marauders put twelve runners on base with seven hits and five walks but could only manage one run.

CF Travis Swaggerty was 2-for-4.

Low-A

Greensboro (55-33) wins 6-2 at Kannapolis (39-49)

Alex Manasa wins his eighth, with one run in five innings.

Grasshoppers had twelve hits as six players had two apiece. Both of Ji-hwan Bae’s hits were doubles and Kyle Mottice was 2-for-3 with a walk, pushing his Greensboro BA above .400.

Short Season A

West Virginia (14-11) comes up short 8-4 in ten innings to visiting Aberdeen (13-12)

A day after going twelve innings this one went ten but Aberdeen plated four in the top of the tenth.

Michael Burrows pitched well, not allowing any runs in four and two thirds while striking out seven.

Triolo and Gorski each had two hits.

Advanced Rookie

Bristol (11-10) defeated 6-3 by visiting Johnson City (12-8)

Dante Mendoza had a fine start, not allowing any runs in four innings, giving up two hits and two walks while fanning six, but Yoelvis Reyes relieved and coughed up six runs in two innings of work.

Shackelford was 2-for-4, including a two-run homer, this third.

Rookie

GCL Pirates (6-7) blanked 7-0 by Rays (6-7)

Dominican Rookie

Pirates-1 (18-16) rolls 11-5 over visiting Indians/Brewers (9-25)

Pirates banged out fourteen hits, including Shendrik Apostel’s fifth homer of the year and third in two days.

Pirates-2 (28-6) keep on trucking with 11-4 win at Tigers-2 (13-21)

Fourteen hits and six walks for the Pirates, as Berroa, Ramirez and Planchart have three hits each.
