Altoona activated OF Braelin Jackson from the injured list where he’d been since July 5 with a left ankle sprain. Then they placed 1B Jerrick Suiter on the 7-day injured list with a right groin strain. Suiter was hitting 238/283/312 in 91 games.
Alex McRae (6-6, 4.96) allowed only three hits in six innings, but two of them let the yard, accounting for all three runs on his ledger as he walked three and struck out four.
2B Erik Gonzalez (205/244/308) had a solo homer in the first
The Indians rallied to tie the scored in the eighth when PH Trayvon Robinson (314/399/484) doubled and 3B Ke’Bryan Hayes (252/334/409) singled to drive him in.
Tyler Lyons (2.97 ERA in 36 1⁄3 IP) struck out three in the last two innings, but allowed a tenth inning single to drive in the fake runner.
Gonzalez finished with the home run and two walks in two at bats. CF Jason Martin (253/293/437) was 2-for-3 with a walk.
The Curve led 3-1 until Bowie exploded for seven runs in the fifth against starter Domingo Robles (7-8, 3.75), three of them unearned. In four and two thirds he allowed eight hits, including a second inning solo homer, and did not walk a batter while striking out three.
Reliever Yeudy Garcia (6.00 ERA in 45 IP) was also battered in the six for three more runs on four hits and two walks.
The Marauders had nine hits and four walks in five innings but left eight on base, failing to make up for starter Brad Case (9-4, 3.17) getting hit hard. He was knocked or seven hits and two walks in three innings, charged with five runs. After seven straight starts of three runs or fewer, Case has allowed five runs in each of his last two starts.
SS Oneil Cruz (327/368/505) and C Deon Stafford (237/343/399) each had two hits. CF Travis Swaggerty (246/332/352) doubled and LF Lolo Sanchez (263/335/383), batting ninth, was 0-for-3 with three K’s, seeing his BA with Bradenton dropping to .159 in 23 games.

Short Season A
The Black Bears led 2-1 in the seventh until reliever Francis del Orbe (4.86 ERA in 16 2⁄3 IP) surrendered back to back homers after loading the bases on a single and a pair of walks.
LF Blake Sabol (268/375/451) provided most of the offense, with two of the team’s four hits, their only walk, and only extra base hit, a triple.
Tied 3-3, The Pirates plated four runs in the ninth on five hits, capped by a double by RF Fernando Villegas (212/325/303)
Bristol banged out thirteen hits, including five doubles.
Starter Tahnaj Thomas (5.12 ERA in 19 1⁄3 IP) struck out five without a walk in three innings, but gave up three runs, including a pair of solo homers in the first. Over his last five starts he has allowed one walk to go with 25 strikeouts in 17 2⁄3 IP.
Starter Bryan Torres (8.71 ERA in 10 1⁄3 IP) was hit with four runs in the first on three hits and a walk, capped by a three-run homer.
CF Sammy Siani (269/406/327) was 3-for-3 with a walk.
Pirates’ pitcher didn’t allow an earned run as they walked one and whiffed ten. Starter Braham Rosario (2.57 ERA in 35 IP) went four innings, giving up five hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
Starter Sergio Umana (2.27 ERA in 39 2⁄3 IP) won for the sixth time in eight starts, allowing two runs in five inning on six hits and no walks. 2019 signee Wandi Montout relieved and struck out four in two scoreless innings.
3B Alex Mojica (376/489/633) had three of the team’s six hits. Since 2006, only 94 hitters have had 100 or more plate appearance in their age 16 season in the DSL, and so far Mojica’s .483 wOBA is the best, with the Padres’ Eguy Rosario’s .394 in 2016 the next best. Orlando Arcia in 2011 had the fifth best at .376 on a 295/388/467 line.
