Game Thread: Buccos Take Manhattan (Well, Flushing)

MLB: St. Louis Cardinals at Pittsburgh Pirates Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Pirates and Mets will square off Friday in...no wait! Don’t leave the game thre- *door slams*.

Dario Agrazal (2-0, 2.25) will go for the Pirates. He’s posted some good results in his five starts in the majors, though there are some warning signs that he is walking on eggshells (12 strikeouts, 10 walks, 5.15 FIP). For what it is worth, his wOBA allowed and expected wOBA are virtually identical (.309, .311).

The Mets will counter with Zack Wheeler (6-6, 4.69), one of baseball’s most obvious fixer-upper pitchers. It’s his first start since July 7. He was placed on the injured list with shoulder fatigue after throwing 327 pitches in 11 days, including 116 on July 2.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m..
