Triple-A
Indianapolis (44-44) blanked 4-0 by visiting Toledo (40-49)
Alex McRae (5-6, 5.00) gave up four runs in five and two thirds innings, including three runs in a third inning that featured a pair of doubles and a homer. Overall he surrendered nine hits and two walks without striking out any batters.
Geoff Hartlieb (3.33 ERA in 24 1⁄3 IP) and Jake Brentz (3.67 ERA in 34 1⁄3 IP) allowed only a double in three and a third innings of scoreless relief.
Despite striking out only four times, the Indiana’s offense could only manage five singles. SS Erik Gonzalez was 0-for-4 and RF Gregory Polanco (239/364/326) 0-for-3 with a walk in their rehab appearances.
Benches cleared in the fourth when Ke’Bryan Hayes was hut by a pitch in the back of the helmet. Hayes stayed in the game, but the Indians’ Blake Weiman, in the bullpen, and Mudhens’ Beau Burrows, Daz Cameron and Ronny Rodriguez, all of whom were in the game, were ejected.

Double-A
Altoona (47-38) was a 3-2 winner over visiting Erie (44-40)
21 year old left Domingo Robles (7-7, 3.35) allowed an unearned run in the first but that’s all he was touched for in five innings, allowing five hits and a walk while striking out four.
The Curve only had two hits while striking out seventeen times, but trailing 2-1 in the sixth took advantage of reliever Anthony Castro’s wildness. 2B Alfredo Reyes (204/302/289) was hit by a pitch to start the inning but was erased trying to steal. With two outs both CF Jared Oliva (267/357/392) and DH Logan Hill (259/340/426) walked before RF Bligh Madris (262/326/383) doubled them both home on a sinking liner that skipped past the left fielder.
A two-out, two-run double by @Bligh_Guy gives us our first lead of the day!

Erie starter Tarik Skubal (4-5, 2.43), a 22 year old left-hander drafted in the 9th Round in 2018 out of the University of Seattle, allowed one hit and two walks in his five innings while fanning eleven batters.

West Virginia (12-10) drops an 8-7 decision in 10 innings to visiting Auburn (11-11)
The Black Bears banged out fifteen hits but couldn’t hold onto a 7-2 lead in the eighth inning.
Starter Will Kobos (10.61 ERA in 9 1⁄3 IP) gave up a three-run homer in the second to Joe Randa’s son Jake, leaving after three down 3-0, having surrendered four hits and a walk.
West Virginia roared back, scoring seven times on eleven hits over the next five innings, highlighted by 3B Jared Triolo’s (220/277/492) double and CF Blake Sabol’s (240/345/420) fifth inning two-run homer, his first.
But Noe Toribio (3.21 ERA in 14 IP) couldn’t hold the lead, giving up two in the eighth and another two in the ninth before Mike LoPresti (0.00 ERA in 10 2⁄3 IP) surrendered the game winning hit in the tenth.
Sabol finished 3-for-5 with four RBI. RF Will Mathiessen (333/400/593) and DH Luke Mangieri (328/418/517) also had three hits apiece.
Advanced Rookie
Bristol (11-8) victorious 9-3 over visiting Pulaski (10-8)
Whatever was ruining 20 year old right-hander Tahnaj Thomas’ (5.56 ERA in 11 1⁄3 IP) control in his first two games appears to be fixed. Those two starts accounted for five walks and one strikeout in an inning and two third, but in the two since he has one walk and twelve whiffs in nine and two thirds, while allowing just two runs.
On Sunday Thomas held Pulaski scoreless on one hit over the first three innings, then surrendered a run on a walk and three hits in the fourth, striking out the last two batters of the inning, before departing after a two out double in the fifth.
In total Thomas allowed two runs in four and two thirds on five hits and one walk while striking out seven. He threw 51 of 79 pitches for strikes (65%)
The win put the Pirates into a tie for first place.
The Pirates took the lead for good with four runs in the second and added five more in the seventh and eight. 2B Josh Bissonette (273/333/295) was 2-for-5 with four driven in. SS Jesus Valdez (311/425/443) and 1B Samuel Inoa (323/364/516) also had two hits each.
