Game Thread: Game 2 at Coors Field

MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates at Colorado Rockies Russell Lansford-USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Pirates stay in Colorado to face the Rockies at Coors Field for game two of a four game series on Friday night. First pitch is set for 8:40 pm Eastern, and the Bucs are looking to win again after their 11-8 victory last night. Two righties will face off as Dario Agrazal (3-3, 4.41) pitches for the Pirates and Antonio Senzatela (8-8, 6.75) will throw for the Rockies.

Agrazal will be making his second start since being recalled for the injured Chris Archer. It wasn’t a good appearance the last time out, as he allowed four runs on seven hits, two walks, and two hit batsmen in his five innings of work. He’ll try to return to his late-June/early-July phase, as he had four quality starts in a row during that time frame, allowing five hits or less in all of those outings. However, that might be tough for a contact pitcher in a hitter-friendly park like Coors.

Senzatela was also recalled recently, as he was sent down in late July after a rough stretch. His return wasn’t much better, as he allowed six earned runs in 1.2 innings while visiting the St. Louis Cardinals. With Senzatela striking out just 54 batters over his 94.2 major league innings this season, it’s safe to say we should see a lot of balls in play tonight. In this environment, that could result in some fireworks.
