In memory of Jason Rollison

New, comments

Earlier this week we were shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Jason Rollison who had recently been a valued writer here at Bucs Dugout. It was reported that he had a brief battle with cancer. He was 38.

A lifelong Pirates’ fan, Jason had spent his adult life writing about baseball and the Bucs at most major online outlets in the area, and last year was a mainstay who stepped up as acting manager to keep this site running through some of the dark days since the retirement of site founder Charlie Wilmoth. Jason had been currently writing for DK Sports.

Jason was a native of Fayette County and had been working in the tech industry in the State College area where he lived with his wife Jessica. Here is a link to his obituary.

Before the game on Tuesday at PNC Park with the Cubs, the Pirates public address made an announcement at the stadium and asked for a moment of silence in Jason’s memory.

Jason has asked for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
