Things may be weird elsewhere in MLB, but it’s all good in Chicago as the Pirates (2-4) take on the Cubs (4-2) at Wrigley Field for the first in a three game series. Everything starts at 8:15 EDT and will be broadcast on AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh.
Trevor Williams (0-1, 7.36 ERA) will take the mound for the Bucs tonight for his second start of the 2020 season. He did not look that impressive against the Cardinals on Sunday; he seemed to be doing fine through the first three innings before somewhat imploding in the fourth, leaving the game after 3.2 innings, five hits and three earned runs. He threw 67 pitches, not good for that few innings, and with a career 7.63 ERA at the Friendly Confines, Oscar Marin will be keeping an eye on him.
On the bump for the Cubbies will be Yu Darvish (0-1, 6.75 ERA), who was supposed to pitch last night against the Reds before the game was rained out. He also didn’t have a great first outing, taking a loss against the Brewers and giving up three runs on six hits in four innings. Although he didn’t get any wins in his three games against the Pirates last year, he notched an 0.833 WHIP. He might not be the pitcher he was when he first came to the Show, but he can still be dangerous.
Here are the lineups, and LET’S GO BUCS!
