Game Thread: Pirates at Twins, 8/4/20

Third time’s gotta be the charm, right? RIGHT?!
MLB.com

It must be early in the season, for a Tuesday afternoon game is coming up for the Pirates. They’ll be taking on the Twins at Target Field in the second of a four-game series, the last game in Minneapolis before everyone heads to PNC Park tomorrow to finish it out. The first pitch gets thrown at 2:15 p.m. EDT, and AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh will broadcast the game. Hopefully those of you with Verizon FiOS will get to see the game today. Not that you really wanted to see last night. Trust me on that.

Joe Musgrove (0-2, 4.76 ERA, 15 K) makes his third start of the season for the Bucs. He hasn’t been awful, but the Pirates’ lack of offense combined with his propensity to give up home runs has put him on the losing end in both his outings. Since the Bucs’ bats have woken up a bit, some much-needed run support could do nothing but help Joe out.

Jose Berríos (0-1, 7.00 ERA, 7 K) will take the mound today for the Twins. The young All-Star righty didn’t fare well in his first start against the White Sox, but against the Indians last week he pitched a respectable five innings, giving up two runs on only three hits. Unfortunately for him, that was against the Tribe’s currently unstoppable Shane Bieber.

Here are your lineups, and, as always, LET’S GO BUCS!
