A new face is joining the Pirates crew!

According to sources, the Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired RHP Kyle Keller from the Los Angeles Angels for cash considerations.

In a corresponding move, the team designated RHP Edgar Santana for assignment.

Keller was drafted in the 18th round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the Miami Marlins and was traded to the Angels in January 2020.

Keller has 12 career appearances, 10 with the Marlins in 2019 and two with the Angels in 2020. His career ERA sits at 4.15.

Keller pitched for the Angels in Spring Training but failed to make the Opening Day roster and was reporting to the Angels alternate site.

Keller, who turns 28 in a few weeks, will aim to boost the bullpen depth. The Pirates bullpen has already pitched 16 innings in just their first three games of the season.

Welcome to the Pirates, Kyle Keller!
