This week’s SB Nation Reacts poll results are in, and the national questions were not just of a specific topic, but mostly centered around a specific player, namely Los Angeles Angels slugger AND pitcher Shohei Ohtani, currently one of the top fan favorites in baseball.
He’s batting .263 so far this season with 15 homeruns and 40 RBIs and is on track for a monster year at the plate. He’s 1-1 with a 2.72 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 36 innings pitched over 7 starts.
Here are this week’s results. We first asked our readers who they feel was the most exciting player in baseball.

This wasn’t a surprise for me. I didn’t vote for Ohtani, but I figured this would be the outcome.
Next we asked if voters felt Ohtani would be able to continue to designated hit and to pitch throughout the rest of his career. It feels like a daunting task to me, and the majority of voters agree.

Most fans also thought his hitting as the more sustainable part of his game. I agree with this one as well.

Surprisingly, despite the high opinion of Ohtani, he still wasn’t voted the best player on the Angels. That title went to Mike Trout.

Lastly, we have our local Pittsburgh Pirates fan confidence rating, which has dipped down to one of its lowest points of the season. However, it’s still hovering right around the 50 percent mark, which ultimately isn’t bad for a team with a 20-34 record.
