In the immortal words of LL Cool J, don’t call it a comeback.

Okay, call it a comeback, because after Tyler Anderson gave up a pinch homer to Yasmani Grandal in the seventh inning last night, the Bucs turned on Singles Power in the same inning to beat the White Sox 6-3. Since one of the many complaints about the 2021 Pirates is that they can’t rally, it was good to see them battle back to get the win.

There might be a broom here or there at PNC Park this afternoon as the Bucs look to take the second game of this miniseries against the White Sox. Chase De Jong, who acquitted himself admirably against the Nationals a week ago despite getting the loss, takes the hill for the Pirates. The Sox will give the ball to Dylan Cease, who had a not-great-Bob outing against the Astros last Thursday, but currently has a 1.000 batting average, thanks to a three-for-three performance against the Reds back in May.

It’s a glorious afternoon for baseball in the Burgh and I’ll be here and on Twitter (@bucsdugout) throughout the game. As always, LET’S GO BUCS!!
