After averaging less than a run per game in their last series against the Rockies, the Pirates are looking for a spark in the bats this weekend. Unfortunately for them, the Brewers are on deck.
Two of the four pitchers they’ll face this weekend have an ERA under 3.00, and the Brewers offense has also been on a tear lately.
After trailing 7-0 against the Wednesday, the Brewers scored 15 unanswered runs to sweep the Cubs. The win marked their eighth straight victory and the team now holds a six-game lead for first place in the division.
The way these two teams have looked, the Pirates will be lucky to snag one game this weekend, but considering the team is returning to a potential full stadium, perhaps they’ll feed off the energy of a packed house. That’s all we can hope for.
