Yesterday was “bowling shoe” ugly, to say the least, but the Pirates have not one, but TWO opportunities to make up for it today.

Tyler Anderson is coming off a stellar start against Milwaukee, after giving up only three hits in seven innings. In addition, he struck out six hitters - the highest amount Anderson’s tallied in his last three starts. If he can control his breaking pitches like he did last week, he should have little to no hardship in retiring the Mets’ lineup.

After going 0-for-4 in last night’s game, Bryan Reynolds is due for a big day at the plate. After all, everyone has a rough night at times.

Interesting move starting Cole Tucker at short today. Hopefully he (finally) gets things going offensively. I wonder if this means Castro will start game two.

Let’s not forget to highlight John Nogowski. Pittsburgh’s newest hero picked up another multi-hit game last night, giving him an impressive .324 average and a .763 OPS on the season. Oh, and his slash line looks pretty right now at .625/.64/.688 with the Pirates... Extend him now!

ROSTER MOVES: The Pirates have recalled Max Kranick from Triple-A Indianapolis. He will start game two tonight.

We will be posting a separate thread for game two, so stay tuned for that.
