After a 1-6 road trip against division rivals, the Pirates return to the friendly confines of PNC Park to battle the Cardinals in a three-game set.

The Cardinals swept the Pirates the last time these two teams met in Pittsburgh, so the Pirates are hoping to reverse those fortunes this week.

It starts tonight with Steven Brault making his second start of the season as he faces former Bucco J.A. Happ., who is making his second start of the season for the Cardinals, who acquired him July 30.

Happ is one of a handful of major leaguers to play for eight MLB franchises.

The series continues Wednesday with Adam Wainwright taking on Wil Crowe and a Thursday matinee finale, where we’ll see JT Brubaker look to snap his losing streak once again.

At this point, the Pirates are playing for pride and it’d be nice to see them grab a win against a beatable rival at home.

Here’s to hope!
